THE NATURE OF THE SWEET POTATO

We've recently decided to get our asses in shape for summer. This includes a whole new workout plan as well as eating healthier. Tonight we prepared turkey burgers with a side of sweet potato fries. Twas divine. However, the workout aspect did not go as planned...somehow we found the energy to take the small pup for a walk. At least its more than you're doing right now, sitting and reading our blog.
That's mean, but funny.. and true.

Tomorrow, however, we will get back on the horse and go to HOT Pilates. We'll definitely be feeling that class the following day.

But first, tonight. Workaholics, Kroll Show, then bed. Good night.

OUR 1ST CREATION

So we basically make our own clothes now...

No, but really. We went on a journey to Savers and found these hidden treasures.

We know. Not much to look at. Just you wait, Henry Higgins.

Step 1: Remove sleeves.
Step2: Trim to fit the back piece.
Step 3: Endless hours of sewing that said piece to the back.
Step 4: More sewing of lace and studs to the front pocket and collar.
Step 5: Trim the vest to be shorter... Insert slight mishap. Which led to step 6.
Step 6: Add lace around the bottom for extra length.

The whole process took 2 days.  We're stoked about the outcome & it only cost us $12!

GIVE ME A BRARK

If you haven't already seen The Kroll Show you should probably get on it. It's absolutely redonkulous. Wednesday nights at 10:30 pm. That will be all.

LET GO OF ANYTHING THAT IS NO LONGER SERVING YOU.

It all started with Groupon. 10 classes for 25 dollars at Vegas Hot! Why not, right?

Best. Decision. Of. Our. Lives. They have so many classes to offer and we want to try them all. So far, we've tried three. Venus, Pilates, and Yin.

In Venus, the room is 100 degrees and is an hour long class. Its a faster paced yoga class but is also completely relaxing.  It is technically an intermediate class but all of the poses have moderations so that beginners can also enjoy it.  It focuses mainly on controlling the breath.  By the far the class that makes us feel the most accomplished.

In Pilates, the room is 95 degrees and is a 75 minute class. It combines Pilates moves with yoga poses. Pretty much hell, but we felt so great afterwards. Also, our instructor has interesting taste in music, which we enjoy.

Yin is in a 100 degree room and is normally 90 minutes long. This week we took an hour class and loved every minute! This class includes slow, passive stretching.  It focuses on flexibility, stretching connective tissues and developing the ability to still the mind.  We held one pose called Pigeon for a good 5 minutes.. needless to say.. ouch.  The instructor kept repeating a phrase: "Let go of anything that is no longer serving you."  LOVE.  So true, letting go of things that are no longer conducive to a happy life is something to strive for.  Its safe to say, this is our favorite class.

Overall, this place is amazing. The people are lovely, and it just feels like there is no judgment or hate in the atmosphere. Its all about a happy, healthy lifestyle.

BE THE ONE TO GUIDE ME BUT NEVER HOLD ME DOWN

We are currently obsessed with this idea.

The quote "Be the one to guide me but never hold me down" is such a good reminder to be there for the people who need you in their lives. To offer your advice and guidance without trying to control them or the situation they're in.

Do we have the guts to actually get it?  Doubt it.
It looks lovely on them though!

BORN THIS WAY BALL

I may or may not have a slight obsession with Lady Gaga.

So naturally I went to her performance at MGM. To say it was amazing is an understatement. She is such an incredible performer and she was on stage for 2 and half hours! Definitely got my money's worth. I wore a long sleeve black dress (lined with spikes), a teal clutch (with skull studs), and the white Litas.
However, once I arrived at the performance I had an addition to my outfit.

Yes, that is a giant glowing bow on my head. I just couldn't resist buying when I saw it. Bows are just another obsession of mine. Also, there was a boy in front of us who did not stop dancing the whole time. He was even dancing after the show ended. What a trooper! All in all, it was a night to remember. Probably going to be in the top 10 nights of 2013. Yeah, it was that good. So I leave you now with a picture of the stage. Hopefully some of you got to see this live.

P.S. She came out on a horse...If that isn't putting on a show I don't know what is.

WATCH YOUR STEP.

Last night I went to the Hard Rock Hotel to support my Muay Tai coach.  He knocked his opponent out in the first round.  It was amazeballs. Our t-shirts definitely not easy to make an outfir out of.  I wore it with skinny jeans, my Steve Madden Saviorr boots and black and gold accessories.

After the fight we went to Senor Frogs at Treasure Island and celebrated the win.  I changed (thank God.) I had on an animal print front-zip dress from H&M and a leather vest. I'd post a photo.. but they were all pretty embarassing. & I wore the litas!  Someone stepped on them when I was on my way out... Needless to say he received the death glare.

Good times were definitley had by all.
